Halal restaurant in Ljubljana — no compromises
At Šeherezada, halal is not a marketing word but a firm commitment to purity, traceability and respect for tradition. All our veal and chicken comes from verified sources with a valid certificate. There is no pork and no alcohol in our kitchens.

Three firm pillars of halal safety
For us, halal means a complete system of responsibility — from where each ingredient comes to how it is prepared on your plate.
No forbidden ingredients
There is no pork, pork fat, gelatine or a drop of alcohol on our premises. In our sauces, jufka dough and marinades we use only 100 % clean ingredients.
100 % verified origin
We use only quality veal and chicken from recognised European slaughterhouses with valid international halal certificates and precise traceability of every batch.
Careful hygiene in the kitchen
Separate work areas, dedicated equipment and regular staff training prevent any cross-contamination. For us, hygiene is part of both religious and culinary responsibility.
What is on our menu and what you will never find here
Transparency for every guest: a clear overview of the ingredients we use with pride, and of those that are strictly forbidden at Šeherezada.

How halal is officially certified in Slovenia
A halal certificate is not a one-off document on the wall but continuous inspection that guarantees the highest level of trust.

Šeherezada halal certificate
Šeherezada holds an official halal certificate for preparing and serving food. The document is displayed on the wall at both our locations in Ljubljana.
The official issuing body in Slovenia
Zavod Halal carries out expert reviews of suppliers, analyses every ingredient and regularly checks kitchen conditions. A certificate is issued only when all strict international criteria are met.
Official Zavod Halal website (halal-slovenia.si)4 steps of the official certification process:
Application and document review
A review of all raw materials, additives and suppliers — where every ingredient comes from.
On-site inspection
An inspection of the whole preparation process and of hygiene conditions in the kitchen.
Staff training
Staff learn the handling practices that prevent cross-contamination with unsuitable foods.
Issue and renewal
The certificate is issued for a fixed period and is followed by regular and unannounced checks.
7 vegan and 4 vegetarian dishes
Halal and plant-based eating go together beautifully. If you do not eat meat, you have plenty of choice here: crispy homemade chickpea falafel, fresh mixed salads with olive oil, fried sides and rich meat-free pizzas — all clearly marked on the menu so you can order with a light heart.
