Cookie policy

We respect your privacy on the Šeherezada website. What loads at the moment is only the cookie for your choice and the cookie for the page language. Analytics is not switched on yet; when it is, it will load only for visitors who chose “Accept all” in the banner. The embedded map loads only after you consent, or when you click on it yourself. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track your behaviour.

1. What cookies are and why we need them

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit. On each return visit the site recognises the cookie and adapts the content or keeps your settings (for example your chosen language, your consent or your preferred location).

Cookies themselves contain no programs and cannot damage your device. They do not collect your personal data without your explicit consent.

2. The types of cookies we use

Under the Slovenian Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom-2) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), cookies fall into three basic categories. Alongside them there are cookies set by embedded third-party content.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to work at all (security, navigation, storing your consent). By law no consent is required to set them, because the site cannot function without them.

Functional cookies

They store a setting the site needs to display correctly — in our case the language you are reading in. Without it, links could take you back into a different language.

Analytics cookies

They are meant for anonymous measurement of site traffic. We do not use them at the moment — analytics is not switched on yet. When it is, it will load only for visitors who choose “Accept all” in the banner.

Embedded third-party content

The Contact and Locations pages have a Google map embedded in them. It does not load on its own: until you choose “Accept all” or click the button in its place, Google learns nothing about you. Once you load it, Google displays the map and sets its own cookies — exactly as if you had opened the map on Google directly. Because we do not set them, we list them in the table below as one entry, without names or lifetimes.

3. List of cookies on this website

The table below lists every cookie that may be placed on your device. The “Status” column tells you whether a cookie is actually in use right now — so you can see what is happening on your device today, and what is only planned:

4. Your current choice

You can change your choice here at any time. The change takes effect immediately and is stored in the cookie cookie_consent.

Status: you have not chosen yet

The essential cookie is always on — without it the site could not remember your choice. Analytics is not switched on yet, so for now your choice does not change what is loaded. It counts in advance, though: when we introduce analytics, it will load only for visitors who chose “Accept all” here.

5. How to manage or delete cookies in your browser

You can also change your cookie settings at any time in your web browser. Most browsers let you refuse or accept all cookies, accept only certain types, or warn you when a site wants to store a cookie.

How to manage cookies in popular browsers:

Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.

Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.

Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.

Microsoft Edge: Settings → Site permissions → Cookies and site data.

Please note: if you disable cookies entirely, some parts of the website may not work as well.
